Jaguar XF 2.2 Diesel on its way to 57mpg
The much denied – but always going to happen – Jaguar XF 2.2 Diesel finally arrived officially at the New York Motor Show in April. And actually, Michael-extracting apart, the arrival of the 2.2 Diesel XF is a sure sign that Jaguar has its swagger back. Because if they were still afraid - as they were for a very long time - that a cheaper, smaller-engined XF would undermine the premium status the XF had earned since its arrival, they’d have continued to make excuses for its absence from the XF range.
New Subaru WRX teased ahead of Los Angeles Auto Show debut
There’s still no guarantee that Subaru UK will import the new WRX and put it on sale in the UK, but the production version of the new WRX will be revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show this month to whet appetites. We expect there will be strong similarities between the production version of the new WRX and the WRX Concept we saw at the New York Show earlier this year, and this first teaser image does seem to show that. The statement bonnet scoop is firmly in place – with sharp crease lines flanking it – as is Subaru’s heaxagonal grill with a butch front bumper with big air intakes and mesh inserts.
A warm and sunny London was the venue for the second Design Conference organised by the UK-based magazine Interior Motives. The conference took place June 7-8 at the Museum in Docklands near Canary Wharf in the heart of the revitalized docklands area to the east of London and was enjoyed by around one hundred delegates from the international automotive design community.The two-day summit was chaired by educators from two design schools, as a way of deliberately promoting neutral yet informed discussions from the panel. Matteo Conti, Programme Leader of Transportation Design at Northumbria University introduced the speakers on the first day, while on day two Dave Muyres and Geoff Wardle from Art Center College of Design jointly chaired the session.
